Standard & Poor’s announced today that it
has commenced Factual Stock Report coverage on Security Devices,
International, Inc.
Security Devices International, Inc. (OTCBB:SDEV), in the development
stage as of May 31, 2008, is in the advanced stages of developing
LEKTROX, a line of wireless electric ammunition for use in military,
homeland security, law enforcement, and professional and home security
situations. The company specializes in the field of less than lethal
technologies for defense industries.
LEKTROX has been specially designed for use with standard issue riot
guns and M203 grenade launchers, which will allow the military, law
enforcement agencies and others to quickly deploy LEKTROX without the
need for lengthy, complex training methods or significant functional
adjustments to vehicles or personal equipment. The company believes that
simplicity of use is also a key benefit for the home security market
where most users have little or no specialized training.
LEKTROX is a third generation electric solution. First generation
solutions were hand-held stun guns which had a range of arm's length,
while second generation solutions used a wired electric charge. Third
generation solutions are the wireless electric bullets.
The company's first products, the LEKTROX 37-38mm and 40mm round
ammunition, were expected to be ready for the market in the third
quarter of 2008, with a 12-gauge version to be introduced later.
