Manhattan Scientifics Appoints Professor Henry J. Rack, Prominent Material Scientist to Its Research Team

Rack, Ph.D, Professor of Materials Science & Engineering at Clemson University and a specialist in advanced metallic materials for medical device, transportation and energy applications, to the company's Science and Technology Committee.

Dr. Rack joins ranks with Martin Cooper, father of the cellular telephone, Arthur Kaufman, Ph.D, co-founder of H-Power and Donald J. Sandstrom, former Materials Science & Technology Division Leader at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Manhattan Scientifics CEO Manny Tsoupanarias said, "We are honored to welcome Henry to our company. Henry and Terry Lowe, our Metallicum unit Chief Scientist, will spearhead the ongoing initiative to commercialize our proprietary nano-structured metals processes to the medical, transportation and sports industries."

Dr. Rack received his B.S., M.S. and Sc.D in Metallurgy from MIT. Since 1985, Dr. Rack has been a Professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Clemson University. He is an ASM International Fellow, member of the National Materials Advisory Board and holds a Humboldt Stiflung in Metal Physics, among many other honors. Prior to joining Clemson, he led the commercialization of advanced metal matrix composites.

Dr. Rack is the author of the book "Structural Biomaterials for the 21st Century" and inventor of several advanced materials and processes currently used within the transportation and medical device industries. He has delivered numerous lectures both domestically and internationally.
