has filed its annual report Form 20-F for the fiscal year ended December 31,
2007 with the Securities and Exchange Commission on June 3, 2008. The annual

copy of the annual report containing its audited consolidated financial

In compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, TIM
Participacoes management conducted an evaluation of the effectiveness of the
company's internal control over financial reporting and concluded that the
company's internal control over financial reporting was effective as of the
end of the company's fiscal year ended December 31, 2007. In addition, TIM
Participacoes' independent registered public accounting firm attested the
company's internal control over financial reporting is in accordance with the
standards of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (United States) and
