Inc. today announced that it has named Diane Souza president of
OptumHealth Specialty Benefits, which provides dental, vision, life,
disability and stop-loss benefits to more than 75,000 employers. Unique
from its competitors, OptumHealth Specialty Benefits can package its
solutions to provide a greater range of benefits to individuals, while
reducing costs for employers and public sector organizations.
“In a short amount of time, Diane has made a significant impact on our
business direction and how we interact with our customers,” said Dawn
Owens, chief executive officer of OptumHealth. “As president of
Specialty Benefits, she will continue to expand her outreach to
customers, tapping their input as we enhance our product offerings,
broaden our network coverage and build stronger broker partnerships.”
Souza joined Specialty Benefits in May as chief operating officer to
lead its products, operations and technology areas. As president, she is
now also responsible for the overall growth and strategic direction of
the business, while overseeing sales, finance and marketing.

focused on delivering valued benefit solutions,” Souza said. "I am

Prior to joining OptumHealth Specialty Benefits, Souza held senior
leadership positions of increasing responsibility at Aetna including
health care operations, finance and strategic business
transformation. She is a CPA and has been a principal consultant to a
number of large organizations, helping them manage their performance,
while improving delivery of products, services and technology.
