LG Mobile Plans Expansion in China

(Source: Datamonitor)trackingSouth Korea's LG Mobile has announced plans to invest CNY 1 billion ($147m) in 2009 to expand its market share in China.

It said the investment will enable it to launch 60 new mobile phone models in China every year. It has also partnered with Chinese mobile phone distributors China PTAC Communications Services and Telling Telecom.

LG Mobile is aiming to achieve a market share of 5% to 10% in China. Nokia, with 30%, is the largest mobile company in China, followed by Samsung with 15%, and Motorola with nearly 10%.
