CALGARY, Jan. 6 /CNW/ - Global Energy Services Ltd. ("Global Energy")
(GLK - TSX Venture), is pleased to announce the appointment of David A.
Simpson as a new director. Mr. Simpson, Registered Professional Engineer
(Colorado, New Mexico) of Farmington, New Mexico brings a wealth of knowledge
and broad experience to the Board. He is currently the Principal Engineer in
his own consulting practice, MuleShoe Engineering which specializes in CBM
development and operations, gas compression, pipeline modeling and low
pressure operations. Mr. Simpson has had experience with major US production
companies.
Subject to regulatory approval, in connection with the new appointment,
the Board of Directors has approved a stock option grant to purchase up to an
aggregate total of 50,000 common shares of the Corporation to the new director
at an issue price of $0.26 per share. The grant is to provide a compensatory
incentive for the services provided to the Corporation and demonstrates the
commitment that the Corporation has to encourage and enable the acquisition of
an equity interest by the participant.
