Jan. 12--Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are looking Reginald Peters, a convicted sex offender who they say cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet.
Peters is wanted for violating his probation and failing to register as a sex offender.
He was convicted in Mecklenburg County of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and was ordered last October to wear the bracelet after he was charged with failing to register as a sex offender.
Police say he cut off the bracelet shortly after his probation officer discovered pornographic materials in his home. Anyone with information on where Peters might be is urged to call the CMPD Violent Criminal Apprehension Team at (704) 336-VCAT.
