DENVER, Jan. 15, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Advertising Material -- The Shuman Law Firm today announced that a Class Action lawsuit has been filed in the United States District Court for the Central District of California on behalf of a class consisting of all persons or entities who currently hold Mentor Corporation ("Mentor" or the "Company") (NYSE:MNT) common stock.

The Complaint charges certain of the Company's executive officers and directors with breaches of fiduciary duty in connection with Mentor's proposed acquisition by Johnson & Johnson by failing to maximize shareholder value. The Complaint cites an industry analyst who claims Johnson & Johnson "stole" the Company and "likely underpaid."
