Jan. 19--MILLENIUM TO INVEST IN KUWAIT ENERGY: Millennium Private Equity, the private equity arm of international investment bank Millennium Finance Corporation, is to invest $25m in Kuwait Energy Company (KEC). Launched in 2005, KEC seeks to produce 50,000 barrels of oil equivalent (boe) per day on proven and probable reserves of 300 million boe by 2010.

ADNOC SIGNS EMISSION REDUCTION AGREEMENT: The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) and Masdar have signed a framework agreement to develop a series of projects to reduce carbon emissions from Abu Dhabi's oil and gas facilities. The Masdar Initiative is Abu Dhabi's investment in the development and commercialisation of technologies in renewable, alternative and sustainable energies as well as sustainable design.

DWC SIGNS $16BN OIL DEVELOPMENT DEAL IN NIGERIA: Nigeria and Dubai have signed a preliminary agreement worth $16bn to develop oil and gas infrastructure in Africa's top crude producer. The deal will see Dubai World Corporation investing in projects in the Niger Delta, Africa's oil and gas heartland, which accounts for nearly all of Nigeria's around 2.0 million barrels of crude per day. The agreement also covers investment in the real sector, agriculture and power.

ENVIRONMENT EXPO TO FEATURE 256 EXHIBITORS: The fifth Environment 2009 Exhibition and Conference, starting on Monday, will feature 256 exhibitors from 28 countries. Staged at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec), the conference will be showcasing a range of water, waste and air quality management solutions.

DUBAI, NIGERIA INK $16BN OIL DEAL: Dubai World Corporation (DWC) wholly-owned by Dubai Emirate has signed up a $16bn preliminary agreement to develop oil and gas infrastructure in Nigeria, Reuters has reported. DWC will invest in projects in the Niger Delta, which accounts for nearly all of Nigeria's around two million barrels of crude per day.
