Jan. 30--An early morning fire damaged a building at a Dinwiddie County steel recyling and fabrication plant today.The fire was reported about 2 a.m. at Gerdau Ameristeel, which operates the plant at 25801 Hofheimer Way off U.S. 1 near Petersburg.

No further information was available early today from firefighters or Gerdau.
