VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 5, 2009) - Trevali Resources Corp. ("Trevali" or the "Company") (CNSX:TV)(PINK SHEETS:TREVF)(FRANKFURT:4TI) is pleased to announce additional diamond drill results from the highly successful 2008 exploration and resource definition program, which has further expanded the depth potential of the Magistral Central Zone on its advanced-stage Santander silver-lead-zinc project in the Cerro de Pasco region of west-central Peru.
Drill hole SAN-092 on the Magistral Central Zone intersected multiple intervals of massive sulphide mineralization starting from 321 metres through to 419 metres down hole - indicating a widening of the mineralized body with depth (to see Figure 1 please click on: http://media3.marketwire.com/docs/tv205.jpg). Intercepts include a 10.6 metre interval (from 338.65 metres down hole) averaging 17.7 oz/t (550.5 g/t) silver equivalent (110.6 g/t silver, 2.14% lead, 7.62% zinc and 0.28% copper). At Magistral Norte drill hole SAN-095 intersected 3.9m returning 19 oz/t (591.4 g/t) silver-equivalent from 354.85 metres down hole.
Mark Cruise, President and CEO of Trevali, states, "Drill assays continue to deliver positive results for our three Magistral Zones and demonstrate the excellent depth potential of these open ended mineralized bodies. Drill results are currently being compiled by Golder Associates engineers into our initial National Instrument 43-101 resource estimate - due in the near future. Furthermore given that only 600 metres of our 17 kilometre long structural trend has been drill tested we remain highly confident of near-term future discoveries. The key strategic location of the mine site, the substantial infrastructure in place and our own hydroelectric power-station make this project a very desirable and strategic asset in this world-class mining district."
Resource definition drilling has now been completed on all three Magistral bodies to approximately 350 metres vertical depth on all three Magistral zones and mineralization remains open.
Magistral Central is located mid-way between the Company's silver-rich Magistral Norte Zone and its base-metal-rich Magistral Sur Zone. A total of 100 diamond drill holes (20,613 metres) have been completed to date of which the Company has received assay results from the first 95 holes (latest results in Table 1 - summaries of all the holes and location maps are available on the Company's website).

(i) Holes SAN-094, a deep drill test of the Magistral Norte orebody was
lost prior to encountering target depth.
(ii) Exploration to date suggests mineralized zones or mantos are dipping
west at approximately 70 degrees; however, it is anticipated that
future mapping of an underground exploration adit will allow a more
accurate estimation of true thickness.
(iii) Silver equivalent calculated using following metal prices: Ag $15/oz,
Pb $0.9/lb, Zn $0.9/lb, Cu $3/lb and assumes 100% recoveries.
The Company commenced exploration at Santander in November 2007 - discovering three new high-grade silver-lead-zinc replacement and massive sulphide bodies to date. Elsewhere, out-cropping high-grade silver mineralization (with values up to 17.9 oz/t (558 g/t silver)) at Puajanca remains a high-priority drill target for drill testing in 2009. Additionally, geophysical surveying has identified 12 other high-priority anomalies that require testing - along strike on the same productive trend and of equal or greater extent to the pre-drilling geophysical response of the three Magistral deposits.
Project Background
The Santander silver-lead-zinc mine project is located approximately 215 km by road from Lima, in the western extent of Peru's prolific Cerro de Pasco mineral district. The mine operated from 1958-1993 targeting a single Carbonate Replacement Deposit-type pipe and manto structure, the Santander Orebody. Approximately 8 million tonnes grading +7% zinc, 1-4% lead and 60 grams/tonne silver plus by-product copper was processed - initially from open pit operations and then from underground mining reaching a depth of 500 metres below surface in mineralization grading about 11% zinc. Drilling by past operators indicates this mineralization remains open to depth - extending at least 200 metres further beneath the previous workings.
Substantial site infrastructure at the formerly-producing operation includes a fully refurbished 200-man camp and associated support facilities, an ore processing/concentrator plant (including various crushers, mills, flotation cells and filters able to produce zinc, lead-silver and copper concentrates) currently undergoing a refurbishment program, and the Tingo hydroelectric power-station located approximately 17-km down-valley to the west. The Santander project and the considerable existing infrastructure form a highly strategic asset in this mining district.
Qualified Person and Quality Control/Quality Assurance
EurGeol Dr. Mark D. Cruise, Trevali's President and CEO and a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, has supervised the preparation of the scientific and technical information that forms the basis for this news release. Dr. Cruise is not independent of the Company, as he is an officer and shareholder.
The work programs at Santander were designed by, and are supervised by, Mark D. Cruise, President & CEO, Trevali, and Les Oldham, General Manager, Consultora Minera Anglo Peruana S.A. (independent geological consultants), who together are responsible for all aspects of the work, including the quality control/quality assurance program. On-site personnel at the project rigorously collect and track samples which are then security sealed and shipped to ACME Laboratories, Vancouver, for assay. ACME's quality system complies with the requirements for the International Standards ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 17025:1999. Analytical accuracy and precision are monitored by the analysis of reagent blanks, reference material and replicate samples. Quality control is further assured by the use of international and in-house standards. Blind certified reference material is inserted at regular intervals into the sample sequence by Trevali personnel in order to independently assess analytical accuracy. Finally, representative blind duplicate samples are routinely forwarded to ACME and an ISO compliant third party laboratory for additional quality control.
