Jackie Sheppard Appointed to Emera Inc. Board of Directors

HALIFAX, Feb. 13 /CNW/ - (EMA-TSX): Jacqueline Sheppard, former Executive Vice-President, Corporate & Legal of Talisman Energy Inc., an independent upstream oil and gas company, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Emera Inc.

Ms. Sheppard joined Talisman Energy Inc. in 1993 and was responsible for Legal Affairs, Business Development, Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate Projects, Corporate Communications, Investor Relations, Corporate Responsibility and Government Affairs. In addition, she played a significant role in corporate strategy and has extensive experience in business transactions and risk assessment having completed numerous international and domestic business transactions to establish Talisman's global business activities. Ms. Sheppard also served as secretary to the board and has been recognized nationally in numerous rankings as one of Canada's leading business women and business lawyers. She is also a Director on the Board of Directors of NWest Energy Inc.

Ms. Sheppard holds a BA from Memorial University of Newfoundland, a BA and MA from Oxford University, and an LLB from McGill University.
