Feb. 17--The North Texas office of the United Negro College Fund will host its 10th anniversary Red, Hot & Snazzy gala at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel.
The event includes a reception with music by Paul Quinn College's Jazz Ensemble, silent and live auctions, dinner, dancing and a live concert by jazz recording artist and saxophonist Gerald Albright and guest singer Toni Redd.
"More important than the glitz and glamour is UNCF's mission of supporting the efforts of young people attending our historically black colleges and universities," said State Sen. Royce West, who's co-chairing the gala with his wife, Carol.
"Times are tough, but your investment in UNCF will pay dividends in the future."
WFAA-TV (Channel 8) news anchor Debbie Denman will be mistress of ceremonies. KKDA-AM (730) and KKDA-FM (104.5) personality Willis Johnson will serve as auctioneer during the live auction.

Obama photo exhibit
Former Dallas Morning News photographer Lawrence Jenkins will unveil his exhibit "A Change Has Come" Thursday at Paul Quinn College. The exhibit chronicles Barack Obama's journey through the primaries to Inauguration Day in Washington, D.C.
The monthlong exhibit in the library is free and open to the public. Autographed prints will be available on opening night from 7 to 10 p.m., and all proceeds will benefit Paul Quinn College.
Hours are 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
