CNH Rolls Out Global Logistics Tracking System
Monday, February 23, 2009 9:06 AM

CNH Global, an agricultural and construction equipment business and a majority-owned subsidiary of Fiat S.p.A. , has rolled out a global logistics tracking system over the GT Nexus trade and logistics portal in North America and Europe.

GT Nexus runs industry-backed, on-demand global trade & logistics portal. Customers include Xerox, American Eagle Outfitters, Procter & Gamble, Weyerhaeuser and The Home Depot.

Supported by about 11,100 dealers and distributors in 160 countries, CNH moves large, specialized, agricultural and construction equipment and parts through its supply chain, putting a premium on precision shipment visibility and control.

GT Nexus serves as a visibility hub, covering order and product information flows across multiple technology systems belonging to organizations inside and outside of CNH. GT Nexus collects and normalizes all of the operational data on a single platform and then makes it available online through a portfolio of on-demand process management applications.

Dror Noach, VP of Distribution Logistics at CNH, said: "Like for any global manufacturer, visibility across our shipments is critical. With GT Nexus we have an information platform which gives us a level of transparency needed to give better service to our customers."

Aaron Sasson, CEO of GT Nexus, said: "CNH recognizes the value of using technology to optimize the performance of their logistics operations. I am very impressed with what they have accomplished on GT Nexus and look forward to helping them drive further improvements."

Currently the platform supports shipments of finished goods and spare parts. Users in logistics, sales, customs, plants and parts depots all log on to the system over the Web to get information they need to support their specific needs.

The foundation of the tracking system is the integrated network that resides behind the scenes. GT Nexus connects internal CNH systems, transportation carrier systems, brokers and forwarders to a single platform and standardizes the data into a common format, providing status dashboards, performance reports, exception alerts, plant and depot planning and documentation.
