Feb. 24--A restaurant chain specializing in Mexican food opens its doors this fall in the York Town Center in Springettsbury Township, Realtors announced Friday.
Chipotle Mexican Grill, founded in 1993 in Denver, serves American style south-of-the-border fare, including burritos, tacos and fajitas. Since the first opening, the restaurant chain has grown to 830 locations, according to Chipotle's Web site.
The franchise will occupy a 2,140-square-foot space at the shopping center at the intersection Routes 24 and 30. The restaurant joins existing businesses of Dick's Sporting Goods, Best Buy, Ross Dress for Less, Bed Bath & Beyond, Staples and Christmas Tree Shops.
Other restaurants at the center include Chili's, Five Guys and Longhorn Steakhouse.
"Chipotle Grill is a great addition to the mix of businesses at York Town Center," said Stephen Evans, senior vice president and managing director of High Real Estate Group of Lancaster, co-owner of the shopping center. "It builds upon the vitality of the shopping and dining experiences that exist there today."
Dana Scott, a spokeswoman for High Real Estate, said the restaurant will be built on a pad site parallel to the Longhorn along Concord Road.
