US-based car rental company Hertz Global Holdings has reported revenues of $1.8 billion in the fourth quarter of 2008, a decrease of 16.4% or $350 million, compared to the fourth quarter of 2007.
In the fourth quarter of 2008, net loss, on a GAAP basis, was $1.21 billion or $3.76 per share on a diluted basis in the fourth quarter of 2008, compared to a net income of $80.7 million or $0.25 per share on a diluted basis in the fourth quarter of 2007.
The adjusted net loss was $73 million in the fourth quarter of 2008, compared to an adjusted net income of $93.9 million in the same period of 2007. Adjusted pre-tax loss was $103.7 million versus adjusted pre-tax income of $152.5 million in the fourth quarter of 2007.
For the full year 2008, the worldwide revenues were $8.53 billion, a decrease of 1.8%, compared to 2007. In 2008, net loss, on a GAAP basis, was $1.2 billion or $3.73 per share on a diluted basis, compared to a net income of $264.5 million or $0.81 per share on a diluted basis in 2007.
