Chelsea Kanatus graduated last year from Sherando High School in Stephens City, Va.
Health officials said Wednesday they could not release the girl's name until her family agreed to waive her right to privacy.
They also say they're confident they've identified everyone who had significant contact with Kanatus.
A total of 40 people, in Morgantown and elsewhere, have been treated with antibiotics as a precaution.
Students and parents may still be alarmed, so WVU is trying to educate them about the risks with several information booths and an on-campus forum.
PSC to review Fairmont's proposed water rate hike
FAIRMONT - The state Public Service Commission will review a proposed 49 percent water rate increase in Fairmont.
PSC spokeswoman Sarah Robertson said the city of Mannington and the Valley Falls Public Service District appealed the increase to the PSC. Fairmont supplies water to both.
About 1,660 customers also signed petitions protesting it.
Robertson says the PSC also is considering Fairmont's request to allow it to charge the higher rate until the appeal is decided.
Fairmont officials say the increase is needed to finance $9.6 million worth of repairs at the city's 5-year-old water plant and to retire debt.
It would cost the average residential customer $21.65 a month, an increase of about $7.
