The Shaw Group, a provider of engineering procurement and construction services to infrastructure, power generation and process industries, has said that its Environmental & Infrastructure Group has won two contracts to provide facility maintenance and mission support services through 2014 at US Army sites in Alaska.

The first contract encompasses Fort Wainwright and associated training ranges, and the second contract outlines services at Fort Richardson and the Seward Military Resort. The combined contracts’ value of $158 million will be included in the company's second quarter fiscal year 2009 backlog of unfilled orders.

Awarded through the US Army Expeditionary Contracting Command Element in the Pacific region, Shaw’s contracts are comprised of various tasks, including complete maintenance of buildings, structures, grounds and roads; utility, fire protection/suppression, refrigeration, heating and air conditioning systems; dining equipment; and vehicles and heavy machinery.

The contracts also include support of special events and training ranges, pest control services and snow removal operations.

George Bevan, president of Shaw’s Environmental & Infrastructure Group, said: “Mission support services are critical to the efficient operation of Department of Defense installations. Shaw’s innovative public works solutions enable the US Army in Alaska to continue providing safe, functional operating environments for their military personnel.”
