Man Who Tried to Kill IRS Worker Gets 30 Years

Mar. 6--A Polk County construction-company owner who tried to have an Internal Revenue Service employee killed got 30 years in federal prison Thursday. Randy Nowak, 50, of Mulberry, owner of RJ Nowak Enterprises, was convicted in December of attempted murder for hiring a hit man to end an IRS investigation by having the worker killed and the office burned down, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
