Shoppers who could use a little something green at home but who don't want to spend a whole lot of green have been hitting the monthly plant sale at Interiorscapes by The Plant Market for years.
The business, at 5600 W. North Ave., furnishes offices with plants. Sometimes those plants are swapped for new ones and then sold to the public at a deep discount. Generally, the more TLC the plant needs, the deeper the discount.
Shoppers can find everything from hanging pothos to ficus and palms, marked down from 50% to 80%. Come May, Interiorscapes will have tropical plants perfect for patios, such as hibiscus, "which makes it a little more fun," said office manager Becky Wolter.
Sales are cash and carry. But shoppers who fall in love with some of the bigger plants, with pots up to 17 inches in diameter, can get help putting their purchases into their cars.
The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the first Saturday of every month, the only days Interiorscapes is open to the public. The next one will be Saturday.
