China-based pharmaceutical company American Oriental Bioengineering has reported that the revenue in the fourth quarter of 2008 increased 67.9% to $96.3 million compared to revenues of $57.3 million for the same period of 2007.

The company posted net income of $8 million, or $0.10 per diluted share for the fourth quarter of 2008 compared to net income of $15.23 million, or $0.20 per diluted share for the same period of 2007.

The company's revenue for the fiscal year 2008 increased 64.9% to $264.6 million from $160.5 million in 2007. Net income for the fiscal year 2008 increased 10.4% to $47.8 million, or $0.61 per diluted share compared to net income of $43.29 million, or $0.61 per diluted share for fiscal year 2007.
