Wednesday, March 11, 2009 11:47 AM

Broad line supplier of facilities maintenance products Grainger has reported sales results for the month of February 2009. The company’s daily sales declined 10 percent compared to February 2008, primarily due to weak demand across all customer end-markets and geographies.

Sales were negatively affected by approximately 2 percentage points due to foreign exchange. There was one less selling day in February 2009 (20) compared to February 2008 (21). The 2009 first quarter will have one less selling day (63) compared to the 2008 first quarter (64), the company said.

W.W. Grainger has reported sales of $6.9 billion in fiscal 2008.
