Micromet Posts Loss, Regains Rights to Blinatumomab

Maryland-based biopharmaceutical company Micromet has reported net loss of $5.9 million, or $0.12 per diluted common share for the fourth quarter of 2008 compared to net loss of $3.8 million, or $0.09 per diluted common share for the same period of 2007.

The company’s total revenues were $5.9 million for the fourth quarter of 2008, compared to total revenues of $7 million for the same period of 2007.

The company posted net loss of $33.2 million, or $0.77 per diluted common share for the full year 2008 compared to a net loss of $20.1 million, or $0.55 per diluted common share for the full year 2007. Total revenues were $27.3 million for the full year 2008, compared to total revenues of $18.4 million for the full year 2007.

The company also said that it is regaining from its partner MedImmune the rights in North America to its BiTE antibody candidate, blinatumomab, also known as MT103.
