Cosmetics and personal care products company Revlon has appointed Alan Meyers as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Science Officer, effective January 1, 2010.

Mr Meyers will assume leadership of Revlon's worldwide research and development functions, succeeding Neil Scancarella, Revlon's Chief Science Officer since January 2000. Mr Scancarella is scheduled to retire in December 2009.

Mr Meyers has spent his career in cosmetics research and development in positions of increasing scope and responsibility with Avon, Elizabeth Arden and L’Oréal USA, serving most recently as Senior Vice President of Research and Development and Consumer Affairs for L’Oréal USA.

Mr Meyers said: "I am delighted to join Revlon's senior executive team and to lead its worldwide research and development function. I plan to build upon Revlon’s strong heritage of developing and marketing innovative products."

Mr Scancarella said: “Revlon is a leader in innovation in cosmetics and beauty care and it has been personally rewarding and an honor to lead our research and development team. It has also been a pleasure to be associated with such a dynamic company. I know that technical leadership for Revlon will continue to advance with Alan.”
