Microchip Launches New PICDEM Lab Development Kit

Microchip Technology, a provider of microcontroller and analog semiconductors, has launched PICDEM Lab Development Kit, a comprehensive, entry-level development platform for all of Microchip’s 8-bit Flash PIC microcontrollers (MCUs) with 20 or fewer pins.

The PICDEM Lab Development Kit comes complete with a development board containing five popular 8-bit PIC MCUs; a bag of discrete components; a PICkit 2 Debugger/Programmer; and a CD containing a User’s Guide, labs and application examples. The kit provides everything needed to quickly and easily develop applications using Microchip’s 8-bit PIC MCUs, the company said.

Solombra Reserva, produced and bottled by Argentina's La RioJana Cooperative, is now available exclusively at Sam's Club. Other varietals including a Cabernet Sauvignon are expected to follow.

California-based entertainment technologies developer Dolby Laboratories has launched Dolby CP750 Digital Cinema Processor, the latest generation cinema processor.

The company said that the CP750 is designed to work within the new digital cinema environment, integrating easily with preshow servers, alternative content, and digital cinema servers. CP750 will be available for orders during ShoWest starting March 30, 2009.

Honeywell Develops New Lead-Free Packaging Technology

New Jersey-based Fortune 500 diversified technology and manufacturing company Honeywell has developed Honeywell Pb-free Die Attach Solder, a new lead-free packaging technology.

Honeywell Pb-free Die Attach Solder is a lead-free thermal interface material that effectively manages the tremendous heat produced by semiconductor chips in order to improve chip reliability.
