TEHRAN, Mar. 17, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- The following are major news items in leading Iranian newspapers on Tuesday.

Tehran Times:

-- Iranian Foreign Ministry on Monday summoned the Czech Republic's charge d'affairs, whose country holds rotating presidency of the European Union (EU), to protest against the EU's double-standard policy toward terrorism.

Iran Daily:

-- Iranian Oil Minister Gholam Hossein Nozari said on Monday that Iran and Russia had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for energy cooperation on the sidelines of an Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) meeting in Vienna.

Kayhan:

-- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Monday in his address to a rally in western Iranian city of Sanandaj that enemies' pressures to deter Iran's national progress have always been defeated.
