New Jersey-based children's merchandise retailer The Children's Place Retail Stores has reported net sales from continuing operations of $441.5 million for the fourth quarter of 2008, compared to net sales of $443.3 million the same period of 2007.

Net sales from continuing operations for the full year 2008 increased 7% to $1,630.3 million, compared to $1,520.3 million for the full year 2007.

The company posted net income of $38.7 million for the fourth quarter of 2008, compared to net loss of $58.4 million for the same period of 2007.

For the full year 2008 the company’s net income was $82.3 million, compared to net loss of $59.5 million for the full year 2007.
