Mar. 23--Bothell biotechnology company MDRNA said it inked a technology licensing deal with drug giant Novartis that provides an upfront payment of $7.25 million. The two also are working on a broader agreement to collaborate on the local company's drug delivery technology.

Other details of the deal were not disclosed.
