Mar. 25--The Henderson County Commissioners Court voted Tuesday to help Emergency Services District No. 4 with dirt work.

The work is for the foundation of its new fire station, consisting of 8 bays and spaces for offices.

Pct. 1 Commissioner Joe Hall was given authorization to help with labor and equipment not to exceed $3,000 in getting the land ready for the 6,000 square foot building.

The ESD 4 has received financing for $240,000 to be paid out over a 20 year period.

ESD was created in 2003 to serve a 35 square mile area north of the Cedar Creek Lake Spillway to Waller Road in Tool.

East to west, the district covers the area from the Trinity River to the lake.

ESD Commission member Larry Moran said the two story structure will be located at the intersection of State Highway 274 and Church Road.

"We're looking to kick it off over the next two months," Moran said.

In other action, Henderson County Sheriff's Department Major Hanes said the jail project is nearly complete. Project subcontractor MCS has resolved a problem with intercoms on the south side of the jail.

"As soon as the north intercom situation is worked out we can notify jail standards for an inspection," Hanes said.

Commissioners also approved:

--a request from the City of Berryville for assistance with street repairs;

--a check for $40,713 from the City of Trinidad as reimbursement for road materials;

--approved an agreement with the City of Tool allowing the county to assist on the Will White Road improvement project; and

--approved payment of bills in the amount of $317,766.67.
