Fortune 500 electronic components distributors Avnet has promoted MaryAnn Miller to Chief Human Resources Officer, effective immediately. Ms Miller reports to Roy Vallee, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Avnet.
Ms Miller is responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of Avnet’s global human resources and organizational development teams.
Ms Miller has also been appointed to serve on the Avnet Executive Board and was previously added to the Avnet Global Executive Council, which play significant roles in setting Avnet’s overall strategic direction. She succeeds Steve Church, who now leads Avnet’s Operational Excellence initiatives.
Previously, Ms Miller served as senior vice president of global human resources for Avnet, as well as vice president of talent and organizational effectiveness. In recognition of her contributions, she was a recipient of Avnet’s 2009 Chairman’s Award.
Ms Miller came to Avnet in 2006 with more than 25 years of experience in HR and business management in diverse industries. Prior to joining Avnet, she was Vice President of HR for the Electronic Systems Segment at Goodrich Corporation.
Ms Miller also served as vice president of corporate services and was a corporate officer at OrthoLogic, a publicly traded biotechnology company.
Ms Miller holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois and a Master’s in Business Administration from Arizona State University, W.P. Carey School of Business. MaryAnn serves on the Executive MBA Advisory Board of the W.P. Carey School of Business at ASU.
