CALGARY, April 7 /CNW/ - The Board of Directors of True Energy Trust ("True" or the "Trust") announces the appointment of Mr. Melvin M. Hawkrigg, BA, FCA, LL.D (Hon.) as a Director of True effective March 31, 2009. Mr. Hawkrigg is the Chairman of Orlick Industries Limited, an auto parts manufacturer. Previously the Chairman of London Life Insurance Company and Trilon Financial Corporation, Mr. Hawkrigg has also held senior management positions with Brascan Limited (now known as Brookfield Asset Management Inc.), Canada Trustco, Fuller Brush Company and Ernst & Young. Other former directorships include Royal LePage Limited, Security First Inc., John Labatt Ltd. and Renasant Financial Partners Limited.

True also announces the following senior management appointments:

Mr. Duncan A. Chisholm has been appointed Vice President, Engineering and Chief Operating Officer effective April 1, 2009. Mr. Chisholm joined True in the capacity of Vice President, Operations on December 15, 2008.

Mr. Ving Y. Woo has joined True in the capacity of Vice President, Operations effective April 8, 2009. Mr. Woo brings with him 39 years of industry experience. Throughout his career Mr. Woo has worked in many capacities within management and the operational departments of several junior and intermediate oil and gas companies. Mr. Woo holds a professional engineering designation.
