Ancaster, Ontario CANADA, April 08, 2009 /FSC/ - Cleanfield Alternative Energy Inc. (AIR - TSX Venture), yesterday welcomed the Honourable George Smitherman, Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, the Honourable Ted McMeekin, MPP for Ancaster-Dundas-Flamborough-Westdale and Minister of Government and Consumer Services, and Sophia Aggelonitis, MPP for Hamilton Mountain for a tour of Cleanfield's Ancaster facility which was followed by an address by Minister Smitherman to Cleanfield's strategic partners, suppliers, staff and media.
During the tour, the Ministers and the MPP saw the developmental phases of Cleanfield's commercialized Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) along with an operating VAWT on Cleanfield's rooftop which was actively harvesting renewable clean energy. The Cleanfield VAWT, which was developed in conjunction with McMaster University along with funding from Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE), is designed to effectively capture the turbulent wind energy which is associated with urban environments.
