JMP Group, an investment banking and asset management firm, has announced that Alexander Alden has joined its broker-dealer subsidiary JMP Securities as a director in the financial services investment banking group.
Mr Alden is based in the firm's San Francisco headquarters. Prior to joining JMP Securities, Mr Alden was a principal in the financial institutions group at Banc of America Securities working with financial technology clients, including trading technology and market infrastructure providers, financial processors and outsourcers and software analytics developers. Prior to that, he was a director at Globalvest Management Company and a vice president at Putnam Lovell, an investment banking firm.
Carter Mack, co-president of JMP Securities and director of investment banking, said: "Alex is a key addition to our financial services group. Alex's background and relationships will enable us to expand our coverage to a broader range of financial services clients, including broker-dealers, electronic brokerages, exchanges and other capital markets businesses. Working alongside Geoff Beard, Alex will also complement our existing efforts in the financial technology sector, which have centered on payments providers and financial outsourcers."
