PITTSBURGH, April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Nicholas J. DeIuliis, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of CONSOL Energy Inc. and President and Chief Operating Officer of CNX Gas Corporation, is the recipient of the 2009 Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award conferred by Duquesne University's Palumbo/ Donahue School of Business. The award was presented to Mr. DeIuliis during a luncheon reception in Duquesne University's Power Center Ballroom.
The annual award recognizes School of Business alumni who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement in the public and private sectors.
DeIuliis began his career in CONSOL Energy's research and development group where he rose to become the company's Vice President of Strategic Planning. While at CONSOL, he obtained a master's degree in business administration and a juris doctorate degree, both from Duquesne University. Until January of this year, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of CNX Gas Corporation. In January of this year, DeIuliis transitioned to the role of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of CONSOL Energy Inc. and President and Chief Operating Officer of CNX Gas Corporation. In this position, he is responsible for all coal and gas production at CONSOL and CNX Gas respectively.
Mr. DeIuliis is a past director of the Independent Petroleum Association of America and a current director of the Carnegie Science Center, the Allegheny Conference and the Strategic Investment Fund, and a member of the PA Business Council Policy Roundtable. He is also a registered professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and a member of the Pennsylvania Bar. In 2007, Mr. DeIuliis received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year(R) Award and in 2009, he was named Outstanding Engineering Alumnus by Penn State University.
