May 19--Orlando-based AVT Simulation Inc. has doubled its local plant space and established new research, development and production operations at the Central Florida Research Park, the company said Tuesday.
The high-tech training company cited new contracts with the Army, Navy and U.S. Marine Corps, which boosted its expansion work.
AVT specializes in combat helicopter crew training simulators and other flight training technologies. It is a key subcontracctor to the armed forces and major prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin Corp. AVT is also a partner with Boeing Co., Rockwell Collins Corp., FlightSafety International and SAIC Inc.
"We have significantly invested in the infrastructure of AVT and have set the foundation for the next phase of company growth," AVT President Robert Abascal said in a statement.
