Toll Brothers Inc., down $1.29 at $18.24

The luxury homebuilder said it lost $83 million in the second quarter as sales dropped by half and didn't give a profit outlook.

Williams Sonoma Inc., down $1.20 at $13.50

The upscale home decor chain posted a loss in its first quarter as sales tumbled 22 percent, but reiterated its forecast for the year.

Sallie Mae parent SLM Corp., down 33 cents at $5.83

The student lender's CEO said at an investor conference that he expects losses from bad loans to peak this year and stay high in 2010.

Valero Energy Corp., down $3.98 at $18.40

The oil refiner said it expected a 50-cent loss in the second quarter and plans a public offering of more than 40 million shares.

Talbots Inc., up 66 cents at $4.85

Merchandise offerings have improved and customers are buying complete outfits, an analyst said, upgrading the women's apparel retailer.

NASDAQ

Data Domain Inc., up 96 cents at $32.54

NetApp Inc. raised its bid for the data backup systems provider to $30 per share, countering rival EMC Corp.'s all-cash offer.

JetBlue Airways Corp., down 74 cents at $4.29

The airline plans a public offering of 20 million shares and will sell $150 million in convertible bonds. It traffic in May also fell.

TiVo Inc., up $3.72 at $10.70

A court said rival Dish Network Corp. violated the digital video recorder maker's patent and ordered a $103 million penalty paid to TiVo.
