MINNEAPOLIS, June 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today introduced several new services to provide customers with the resources and tools to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The offerings, which include training, education and on-site staffing, add to the company's portfolio of energy and environmental services designed to help schools, universities, municipalities and other organizations meet their sustainability goals while making smart financial decisions.

Through sustainability training and awareness, Honeywell will help customers keep their staff, including facility personnel, up to date on environmental initiatives and conservation methods. The training, customized for each group, highlights the ecological impact of sustainability programs, and aims to make employees part of the effort to reduce energy consumption and emissions.

Honeywell will also provide the tools and support to help communicate internal efforts and results to external audiences -- online, in print and in person. As a result, organizations are better equipped to build awareness among key stakeholders and surrounding communities, and keep these audiences abreast of goals, progress and overall climate impact.

"The road to sustainability is relatively new and many organizations don't have the expertise or resources to plot the most direct, efficient route," said Paul Orzeske, president of Honeywell Building Solutions. "Backed by decades of energy leadership, our sustainability services cover the points that affect environmental initiatives, leaving organizations confident that they're taking the proper steps to meet their sustainability targets."

Another new offering is sustainability education, which helps K- 12 schools, colleges and universities develop curriculum for teaching green concepts. The service provides a guide for teaching sustainability, from leveraging renewable energy to calculating carbon footprints. Organizations will learn how to use their buildings as teaching tools so students can see the impact of energy efficiency and conservation measures first hand.

To increase the effectiveness of the sustainability training, awareness and education services, Honeywell uses Windows on the World (WOW)(TM), a sustainability management and information system from Powersmiths International Corp. WOW augments sustainability efforts, including outreach and education, carbon emissions reporting, as well as continuous commissioning and performance validation of building systems.
