The JM Smucker, a retailer of food products, has reported a net income of $94.27 million, or $0.80 per diluted share, for the fourth quarter ended April 30, 2009, a 154% increase compared to $37.05 million, or $0.67 per diluted share, in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2008.
For the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009, net sales were $1.07 billion, an 81% increase compared to $590 million in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2008.
For the year ended April 30, 2009, net sales were $3.76 billion, a 49% increase compared to $2.52 billion in fiscal 2008. Net income was $265.95 million, a 56% increase compared to $170.38 million for fiscal 2008.
