Wozniacki wins Eastbourne tennis event

In her fifth final this season, the 18-year-old burgeoning star from Odense captured her fifth career title and earned a $98,500 champion's check.

"I felt the ball really well today," the sixth-seeded Wozniacki said. "The sets were very tight. I wish I could have closed the first set out a little bit earlier, having had 6-1 in the tie-break; and I was also up a break in the second set. But I won, and that's the main thing."

Razzano, 26, had advanced to her sixth career final after fellow Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli retired with a right quad strain while trailing 6-4, 1-0 during Friday's semifinal.

"It was a great, tough final," Razzano said. "It was not easy for me to lose in two sets, but they were close."
