BEIJING, Jun. 2, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd. (NYSE:CHT) , the leading telecom operator in Taiwan, said Monday that it welcomed investors from and was likely to make investments in Chinese mainland once the policies permit, according to foreign media report.

Over the past six months, Chinese mainland and Taiwan have signed a series of economic and trade agreements, mainly covering tourism and transportation sectors. But investors are now expecting more deals to be reached in finance and telecom sectors.

Chinese mainland has been the main source of Chunghwa's profit drawn from roaming service, said head of the company.
