With the most physicians, highest satisfaction and percentage of
clients deeply using electronic order entry in acute care hospitals,
company cited as well-positioned to meet the ARRA meaningful use criteria
Underscoring its strong industry position to help healthcare
organizations achieve “meaningful use,” Eclipsys Corporation® (NASDAQ:
ECLP), The Outcomes Company®, today announced that KLAS has reported
that the company leads the industry in the number of physicians using
its computerized physician order entry (CPOE) system in acute care
hospitals and the percentage of its client base deeply using CPOE. The
company also has the highest physician satisfaction from clients using
its Sunrise Acute Care™ solution.
The recently enacted American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
(ARRA) offers federal incentives to hospitals and providers for
achieving “meaningful use of an electronic health record (EHR).” ARRA
also has stirred debate as to whether a specific EHR technology can
deliver the level of clinician adoption required to surpass the required
threshold of “meaningful use.”
According to the recently issued KLAS “Meaningful Use Leading to
Improved Outcomes” report, deep adoption is pivotal to the overarching
success of an electronic medical record (EMR) implementation. The KLAS
report noted Eclipsys is among the vendors that are by far the most
successful with regard to physician adoption, and that survey
respondents cited the company as able to provide an integrated
ambulatory EMR solution to the marketplace that is well-positioned to
meet the meaningful use criteria.
In addition, KLAS concluded that Eclipsys has an advantage in both
physician satisfaction and time required to order with the company’s
CPOE system.
