High Sensitivity Line Scan Camera Ideal for Solar Cell, FPD and PCB Applications

WATERLOO, ON -- (Marketwire) -- 06/24/09 -- DALSA Corporation (TSX: DSA), a global leader in machine vision technology, today announced the availability of the Piranha HS 4k 110 kHz. This new high-speed model features 4k resolution with a 14x14um pixel size and provides an increased line rate over existing Piranha HS camera models at an incredible 110 kHz line rate and throughput up to 640 MPixels/s. The Piranha HS features DALSA's leading edge TDI technology -- an enabler for low light imaging which reduces operating costs and environmental impacts.

The new 110 kHz model offers high responsivity, low noise and high dynamic range, with Camera Link interface and programmable features that position them among the most advanced cameras in the market. Featuring DALSA's cutting edge TDI technology, the Piranha HS 4k 110 kHz camera has responsivity of 11,800DN/njcm2 at 0dB 12 bit with 100x anti-blooming capability.

"The expansion of the Piranha HS family is evidence of our continued commitment to our customers and their requirements for faster speed, higher responsivity and better quality imaging," comments Xing-Fei He, Senior Product Manager, DALSA. "We're pleased to be able to deliver linescan technology that meets customer needs and reinforces DALSA as a technology innovator in the industrial imaging market."

Camera configuration is extremely flexible and the throughput and line rate are all software controllable. All cameras are capable of bi-directionality with up to 48 stages of selectability, while preventing over-exposure with anti-blooming. The HS 4k is available in two speed grades, ensuring the best camera throughput can be selected according to the application.
