O2Micro announces technology license agreement with Sanken Electric

BEIJING, May 25, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- O2Micro International Limited (NASDAQ:OIIM) (OIIM.Nasdaq), a leading supplier of innovative power management and security components, today announced that it has entered into a worldwide technology license agreement relating to O2Micro's patented inverter controller technology with Sanken Electric Co., Ltd. ("Sanken").

Under the licensing agreement, O2Micro will license certain of its inverter controller patents to Sanken.

O2Micro's technology includes innovative solutions relating to powering cold cathode florescent lamp backlights for liquid crystal display panels. This technology is one example from O2Micro's portfolio of patented technologies.

O2Micro looks forward to building a successful business relationship with Sanken.
