Transmode, a leading provider of optical networking solutions, today
announced the deployment of an optical network for Taiwan Fixed
Network (TFN). The network is based on Transmode's Intelligent WDM
(iWDM(TM)) solutions.
TFN, a national telecommunications carrier and part of Taiwan Mobile
Co. (TWN), has deployed Transmode's TM-Series iWDM optical networking
platform to enable the delivery of reliable, high-capacity transport
services in its national optical network infrastructure which is used
for fixed as well as for mobile traffic. The network operator had
identified the need to expand their existing infrastructure and
sought a company whose products were flexible, easy to implement and
cost effective.

TFN chose Transmode's TM-Series platform after rigorous testing where
flexibility was the key selection criterion. TFN's network team
worked with Transmode and Opnet Technologies (NASDAQ:OPNT) , a local specialist in
access networks, to rollout a cost effective, robust and scalable
solution.
