CHICAGO, May 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- PrivateBancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq: PVTB) today announced it has commenced an underwritten public offering of 8 million shares of its common stock. The net proceeds from the offering will qualify as tangible common equity and Tier 1 capital and will be used for working capital and general corporate purposes.
J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. is the sole book-running manager. Robert W. Baird & Co. Incorporated, William Blair & Company, L.L.C., Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Inc. and SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, Inc. are co-managers.
The Company intends to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 15 percent of the shares offered to cover over-allotments, if any.
