Source Interlink Companies (NASDAQ:SORC) today announced resolution of
its antitrust claims against two additional defendants — Curtis
Circulation Company, LLC and Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S., Inc.
The agreement, which resolved all matters to the mutual satisfaction of
the parties, included a multi-year agreement with Curtis securing, under
certain conditions, Source’s access to the Curtis’ magazine products and
follows similar agreements reached previously with Time, Inc.,
Time/Warner Retail Sales and Marketing, Inc., Time Distribution
Services, Inc., American Media, Inc., Distribution Services, Inc., Kable
Distribution Services, Inc., The News Group, L.P., and Hudson News
Distributions, LLC.
“I am happy to make this announcement because it means that, when
considered in light of other recent agreements, we have resolved our
differences with virtually all our magazine suppliers. We enjoy working
with our trading partners and look forward to continuing our mutually
beneficial relationship for many years,” declared Greg Mays, Chairman
and CEO of Source. “These agreements are effective immediately and
assure that we can continue to supply all our mainstream, specialty and
international customers with the variety of titles supplied by Curtis
and Hachette.”
“As we move ahead, the prospect of growth is clear. It is fully our
intention to create a bond with our publishers and national distributors
that is as strong as the relationship we have with our retail partners,”
Mays added.
