Solution Enables Wholesale Carriers to Cost-Effectively Offer
Advanced Carrier Pre-Paid Billing Solutions across Heterogeneous Networks
Veraz
Networks, Inc., (NASDAQ:VRAZ), the leading provider of Multimedia
Generation Network application, control, and bandwidth optimization
products, and Comarch,
the leading BSS/OSS
vendor and systems integrator, today announced a joint offering for
wholesale carriers that combines Comarch’s real-time
pre-paid, service creation and credit control application with
Veraz’s ControlSwitch™
interconnect VoIP platform.
Wholesale service providers are increasingly looking to offer pre-paid
billing as an option for their carrier customers. Carrier pre-paid
services require real-time billing, credit control and revenue assurance
capabilities that need to be tightly integrated into both the carrier’s
OSS/BSS systems and their voice switching infrastructure.
In many cases, wholesale operators’ voice networks are a multi-vendor
mixture of legacy TDM switches, next generation softswitches and
increasingly IMS SIP components. The real-time integration of all of
these diverse elements into a unified pre-paid billing architecture is
often technically challenging and cost-prohibitive.
The Veraz-Comarch solution addresses the cost of integration by
leveraging the ControlSwitch’s ability to interwork across legacy, first
generation softswitches and IMS-based SIP control elements, providing a
unified interface into the carrier pre-paid system and overall OSS/BSS
environment. This dramatically lowers the cost of integrating a diverse
network switching environment into the pre-paid system.
Comarch’s BSS/OSS
portfolio and expertise, which includes convergent
billing systems for retail and wholesale
carriers, telecom
CRM systems and network
and service assurance applications provides carriers with an
industry leading and complete solution covering billing,
rating, charging and real-time
service creation and control.
“By working together, Comarch and Veraz are lowering the cost and
complexity of implementing pre-paid wholesale services,” stated Piotr
Piątosa, VP Telecommunications, Member of the Board, Comarch SA.
