Mobilelink Device Equipped with Wavecom Q24 Wireless CPU^® Provides Security and Caring Services to Elderly

Wavecom (Paris:AVM) (NASDAQ:WVCM) is pleased to announce that MobileLink service, a brand new outdoor support and care service providing 24 hours a day support to senior citizens, won four titles in the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2008. The ceremony was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in February 2009.

MobileLink Service is supported by a one-button MobileLink Device, which is developed by mSolution Consultants Limited. The device is equipped with a Wavecom Q24 Wireless CPU^® providing GSM/GPRS communication. By using the CSL Limited GSM mobile network, the MobileLink Device can provide 24 hours a day connection to a Senior Citizen Home Safety Association (SCHSA) call centre. Users can easily seek assistance by simply pressing the one and only button and contact the call centre. In case they are lost or have an accident, their approximate locations and whereabouts can be tracked to provide a good reference for finding them.

The Hong Kong ICT Awards aim at building a large scale and internationally recognized branding of ICT awards of Hong Kong under a collaborative effort amongst the industry, the academia and the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The Awards comprise eight categories and the MobileLink Service received 4 awards for outstanding achievement in ICT: the Best Ubiquitous Networking Grand Award, Best Ubiquitous Networking (Mobile Enterprise Solution) Gold Award, Best Ubiquitous Networking (Mobile Infotainment Application) Silver Award and Best Lifestyle (Social Life & Community Stream) Silver Award.
