Thursday, Mainly due to a rise in the energy and materials sectors, according to
market watchers.
The TSX composite index increased by 254.92 points or 2.52% to close at
10,355.85 on Thursday. Trading volumes totaled 496.2 million shares, up from
465.6 million on Wednesday. Advances beat Declines 971 to 500.
All of the TSX's ten sectoral indexes ended higher.
