MINNETONKA, Minn., June 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Communications Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: JCS) has been added to the broad-market Russell 3000 Index in the annual reconstitution by Russell Investments of its comprehensive set of U.S. and global equity indexes. See www.russell.com.

Annual reconstitution of Russell's U.S. indexes captures the 4,000 largest U.S. stocks as of the end of May, ranking them by total market capitalization. Membership in the Russell 3000, which remains in place for one year, means automatic inclusion in the small-cap Russell 2000 Index and inclusion in other Russell indexes, including appropriate growth and value style indexes. Russell determines membership for its equity indexes primarily by objective, market-capitalization rankings and style attributes.

Russell indexes are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for both passive and active investment strategies. Approximately $4 trillion in assets currently are benchmarked in the Russell indexes. Total returns data for the Russell 3000 and other Russell Indexes is available at http://www.russell.com/Indexes/performance/default.asp.

'We are pleased to be added to the Russell 3000 Index,' stated Mr. Jeffrey K. Berg. 'The Russell indexes are broadly recognized as key tools for investors to track market performance and trends. We believe that inclusion in the Russell 3000 will result in increased visibility for Communications Systems, Inc. within the investment community, as well as significant stock ownership by index funds.'
